We are pleased to announce that Booker Prize winner, Yann Martel will be the guest speaker at the Awards Gala to be held on Saturday, November 29 at the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts, Regina. To order tickets, contact janice.hill@accesscomm.ca Phone: 306-791-2626. Tickets are $65 ea.

Sask Book Awards received 71 titles this year, many entered in more than one category for a total of 166 entries. An impressive showing from Saskatchewan writers and publishers.

The jurors (out-of-province authors) are now reading as fast as they can. The 2003 Shortlist will be announced at a news conference at Campion College, U of R on Wednesday, October 22, at 2 p.m.

Prior to the Gala, Shortlist Brunches on Sunday November 2, 11:30 a.m. will feature readings by nominees.
