How to Submit a Book - Official Criteria

The 2011 Call for Entries will be issued in September.

The deadline for submissions for titles published between September 16, 2010 and October 31, 2011 is Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Exceptions exist in the Young Adult/Children's Literature, and First Peoples' Writing and Publishing awards, please refer to the official criteria for those awards.

All official criteria for each award must be met for each submission in that award.

Please note: SBA’s jurors only select a winner in each award if there is a high-calibre work which merits the award each year.

We offer 14 annual awards to celebrate, promote and reward Saskatchewan authors and publishers worthy of recognition.

The Saskatchewan Book Awards is the only provincially-focused book award program and a principal ambassador for Saskatchewan’s literary community, which includes more than 300 writers and 75 book publishers. Its solid reputation for celebrating artistic excellence in style is recognized nationally.

Award winners are determined through a jury process of the highest integrity, by high-calibre jurors who are recognized as leaders with significant expertise in each award.
